Obituary of Nancy Sedgeworth Potter

POTTER, Annie  Passed away peacefully in Kitchener, Ontario on Friday, October 13, 2017. Born in Paisley, Scotland on August 2, 1930, Nancy Sedgeworth Potter "Annie" married William Torrance in 1948 and had two children. Annie came to Canada in 1957 with her son William Torrance and daughter Annette Hall (deceased) at ages 9 and 7 respectively. She was born of the Watters and Bothwell families and is survived by her sisters May Lafferty, Sadie Cook and brother Graham Sheldon. She is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth. Annie remarried in 1973 to Kenneth Martin Potter (deceased) and has lived in British Columbia and Alberta with her son, only to settle once again in Ontario where she was close to her grandchildren, Amy Knechtel and John Hall. Annie also had 8 other grandchildren that lived across Canada from the West to the East Coast. She was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great- grandchildren. Those who knew Annie knew of her great courage, strength and determination to face every challenge that lay ahead for her in her final years. She was a pillar of strength and courage at every turn. During her younger years she was no stranger to hard work, holding more than one job at a time to support her family. Annie had many friends that unfortunately had passed in her latter years but she continued making new friends wherever she went. "Blue Eyes" was a nickname given to her and her daughter Annette by me (Amy) and was later adopted by her care workers as she had the brightest blue eyes you've ever seen. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Annie's Life will be held at the Dedication Centre at Williamsburg Cemetery in Kitchener on October 25, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL  , www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or 705-652-3355.  "Grandma, you taught me everything, except how to live without you. I will miss you always" XO  Love Amy
