Obituary of Letitia May Fraser

Fraser: Letitia May (nee Jackman, formerly Wallace)

Letitia May Fraser passed away peacefully at P.R.H.C. (Peterborough Reginal Health Centre) on February 14, 2018 at the age of 94 years.  Letitia was a loving mother of Catherine Pemberton (David), Kenneth Wallace (predeceased), David Wallace (Fran) and Martha Devere Bennett (Nick), and proud grandmother (Granny) of Michael, Patrick, Nara, Noel, Malcolm, and Liah, and great-grandmother of Clara and Ethan.  Predeceased by husbands Arthur Wallace and Craig Fraser.  Dear friend of cousin Bill Ellis of British Columbia.  Coming from humble beginnings during her early years in a farming community near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Letitia grew up in Hamilton and graduated from McMaster University before marrying beloved husband Arthur Wallace.  Settling in Waterdown, Letitia dedicated her life to her husband and family before starting a career as a Social Worker at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, at the McMaster University Medical Centre (MUMC, Hamilton Health Sciences), and later at the Oakville Hospital.  Letitia enjoyed living and working with people, all with grace and kindness and a spirit that has touched all of us.

Many thanks from the family for the wonderful care provided by staff at the P.R.H.C. and at the Riverview Manor, Peterborough.  Many thanks also for the spiritual care provided by The Reverend Munroe Scott, Saint John the Baptist Anglican Church, Lakefield, Ontario.

A Celebration of Letitia’s Life will be held St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Lakefield on Satruday April 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM follwed by a reception in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to either the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), The Anglican Church of Canada, 80 Hayden Street, Toronto, ON M4Y 3G2 or the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, Hamilton Health Sciences Centre, PO Box 739 STN LCD 1 Hamilton ON L8N 9Z9.  The donations may be made by contacting the organizations as expressions of sympathy or through THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or (705) 652-3355.
