Obituary of Richard Graham Nie

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the P.R.H.C. on Tuesday May 1, 2018.  Graham Nie of Bridgenorth in his 79th year.  Graham began his teaching career at Prince of Wales P.S. in Peterborough and taught at various schools in the Kawartha Pineridge District School Board before serving as a Vice Principal at many schools in the district.  Before retiring, he served for many years as the Principal of Keene Public School and South Cavan-Millbrook Public School.   He will be remembered as a fair and genuine educator by many of his former students and staff.  He was an active dedicated member of Ferndale Bible Church in Peterborough and served as the Chairman of the Board for many years.  Graham is loved and missed by his wife of 50 years Marion (Lang) and by his sons Robert (Coby) of Peterborough, Richard (Val) of Peterborough and Andrew (Kelly) of Bowmanville.  Loving Papa of Annelies, Alexander, Benjamin, Maëlle, Willemien “Wila”, Olivia, Ethan, Marleigh and Caleb.  Also missed by his sister Suzanne DeFehr (Don) of Kamloops, B.C., sister-in-law Louise Hiscox (Jim) of Cavan, brother-in-law Rob Lang (Linda) of Burlington, nieces Michelle, Debbie, Sarah and nephews Jeff, Justin, Mark, Timothy and Thomas.  Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Sunday May 6, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Ferndale Bible Church, 25 Ferndale Ave., Peterborough, on Monday May 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Peter Kenniphaas officiating.   A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ferndale Bible Church, University Health Network or the P.R.H.C.
