On behalf of Beef Farmers of Ontario (BFO) and its members, our deepest sympathies go out to Wendy and the Toms family for such a sudden and tremendous loss.
Garnet joined the BFO Board of Directors in November, 2014 as Eastern Director and was re-elected to the position in February, 2017. During his time on the BFO Board, Garnet also served as Ontario's Canada Beef representative and worked tirelessly to advocate for Ontario's interests on the national marketing board. Garnet strongly believed in strengthening the cow-calf sector in Ontario to create a healthy and profitable beef industry. His quiet, yet thoughtful, demeanor, and his dedication and passion to improving and growing Ontario's beef industry will be greatly missed around the board table by his fellow BFO Directors and staff, and by all who knew him.

It has been over 50+ years that I had wonderful experiences in the family barn and threw cow patties with my cousins in Canada, but those memories are remembered so fondly.
