Sandra Dewar

Obituary of Sandra Laverne Dewar

There have been bad times but those memories are far out-shadowed and forgotten under the spotlight of a lifetime of love and laughter shared with my beloved siblings: Bonnie (Carmen) Wease, Bruce Dewar, Phoebe Dewar, Doug (Marilyn) Dewar, and Helen (Ron) Butcher, all of whom I could count on for support in whatever I did, not only through my illness, but my entire life. Nowhere could a person find a kinder, more supportive family.
My siblings also provided me with a succession of playmates in the form of nieces and nephews: Wayne (Holly) Wease and Sherri (Steve) Johnson; Brooke Dewar; Greg (Kristy) Cundill, Kerri-Anne (Rob) Hinds and Kathleen (Chris) Black; Taryn (Tahseen) Mushtaque and Kyla Dewar; and Mandy Butcher. You have all been a fountain of joy and pride as I have watched you all grow into the wonderful adults you have become. I am proud to have played even a small part in that process.
Thank you: Brandon and Megan Wease; Ryan, Kyle and Ali Johnson; Aiden and Julianna Cundill; Seth, Nathan, Elizabeth and Lilly-Anne Hinds; and Hailey and Haven Black for indulging my teasing and playing with me. You have all been a source of great joy.
As if it were not enough to have been blessed with good family, I have also enjoyed laughter and adventure with friends - whether with long time friends like Kathy or slightly newer friends like Antoinette, Joanne and Rosemary. All sharing a spirit of adventure and who gifted to me good food, laughter and overwhelming generosity.
Co-workers from SGS, as a company and individuals alike - Carie, Gayle, Marika and Ruth have been particularly kind.
If you are reading this, it means I have completed the journey on this side of the veil. I have no idea what awaits on the other side but I hope that you all achieve the level of contentment I have achieved through your kindness on this side of the veil.
Lots of love,
Sandra

Sandra wrote the above when she realized her last, but most courageous journey, would take place in the hospital. At Sandra’s request, cremation will take place and a family gathers to follow her wishes will take place. We, her immediate family, would like to thank everyone who helped her on her journey - other family members, friends, co-workers and health care providers.
