Cathy was a big influence in my life growing up. I would visit Duoro at least two to three times a week each year to visit her and Mike, and they were always family to me. We would sit together and laugh at dinner and enjoy ourselves over a glass of wine. She was high spirited, always chuckled at almost everything that we spoke about and she always gave me the kindest compliments and advice about work and school. I am so hurt by the news and just wish I could have spent more time with her and Mike. You’ll always be in my heart and soul Cathy. I know that I never told you this, but I always thought of you as my second mom. I am thinking of the memory that we had when we took Beans for a walk through Debbie’s home and how beautiful it was. I tried to find the photo but it was nowhere to be found. I hope you are healed up there and I miss you dearly,
Love,
Linda.

I’m so very sorry to hear that Cathy has passed on. I will always remember her as someone who was deeply loyal and compassionate. She had grace and sensitivity, and was tenacious in her support for justice and everything good. I wish she had had more time in this realm. I wish I could wish this away. Dear Michael, Faye , and Zach
We are so deeply sad to hear of Cathy's passing. The photo you have chosen is so perfect - I can 'hear' her laugh in it - that loud and full bellied laugh! We ( the family) have all inherited that very loud and wonderful joie de vivre and it is how I think of Cathy and will ALWAYS think of Cathy.
The sadness is true and deep- but just know that our family is strong and always available to you Michael Faye and Zach - we are quite spread out geographically but we are so connected at the same time. You are always welcome here in Vancouver and we will always continue meet , share food and life as "The Cousins" in Ottawa , knowing that Cathy is with us. I am sorry to not be able to attend this Monday, but I will certainly be there in spirit and send you all warm, gentle hugs. Love Cousin Marlise and Bob

Dear Mike, Faye and Zach,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I only met Catherine earlier this year through the Douro Dummer Library but we connected instantly. Catherine was such a cool cat! I admire her energy and positive outlook.
We nerded out together talking about tech and how it has evolved. She even made it out to a recent tech meetup and was a welcome addition to the group, holding her own and demonstrating her skill and knowledge to the next generation of developers.
I only knew Catherine for a short while but I will remember her for years to come. She's a shining star forever and always.
Much love.

Dear Mike, Faye and Zack, I am so sad to hear of Catherine’s passing. Deepest condolences from my entire family to yours. Catherine was both a colleague and friend. She was always available to listen and to chat. She was a big encourager of my boys and they will sadly miss her smiles and hugs. She brought life to our staff dream of having a Coffee House at the Douro-Dummer Library and it is she who put action to our dreams and led us forward by doing the shopping for our props and a/v equipment. She understood the necessity of details but also knew the joy of sitting back and admiring her hard work. Who else would spontaneously agree to recite poetry with me while donning random props from the lost and found box?! Catherine had the gift of bringing a smile and making you feel cared for from almost the moment you met her. Beautiful, passionate and kind, her presence will be missed by those who she gifted with her smile.

Dear Mike, Faye and Zack, I am really sorry to hear that Catherine died. She was a wonderful caring lady. I only got to know her since joining the Friends of Douro Dummer Library three years ago. She worked so hard for our group! She was the tech expert, creating lovely posters, updating Facebook, getting information to the local media about upcoming events. I think we frustrated her at times with our tardiness when it came to deadlines but she never gave up on us! She was interesting, interested and I loved her clothes! We hardly ever got together that I didn't ask her where she got what she was wearing.
I am very happy I had the opportunity to spend even a small amount of time with her. I hope good memories will help you through the coming days.
