One of sweetest people I had the privilege of knowing. Velma convinced me to try a toasted tomato sandwich with mayo, salt & pepper after my canoe 'accidentally' flipped as a 9 year old in 1979. Incidentally I make the same thing for my kids today. If anyone earned that one way ticket to heaven it was you Mrs. Osborne. Godspeed Mr. Osborne, you have a beautiful family.

We were very saddened to hear the news of Velma’s passing. She will be dearly missed by many people.
Velma was such a wonderful and inspiring person who left a positive impression with everyone around her. She was always warm and welcoming to her friends, but especially loved the company of her family.
Bill, we always enjoyed our visits with Velma and you at the lake and especially enjoyed the updates on your children and grandchildren of whom Velma was immensely proud.
Unfortunately, we cannot attend the funeral but please know that we are thinking of the fond memories we shared with Velma and you. Please accept our sincere condolences.

I have lost track of her over the years, but we were neighbours for many years on Rolliston Street, and I had the privilege of visits at the cottage many years back.They were awesome neighbours, and Velma always had a smile for you. I enjoyed her company very much. My thoughts and prayers are with the family throughout this difficult period.
