Barcroft, William “Orvis”

Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C. on Friday September 28, 2018.  Orvis Barcroft of Lakehurst, a self employed builder and real estate agent, in his 82^nd year.  Orvis served on the municipal council in Harvey Township and loved discussing politics. Orvis also served on the Board of Directors at Elim Lodge and dedicated many volunteer hours there. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being in the woods and loved spending time with his family and helping his neighbours. Beloved husband of Jean Arnold and the late Judy Barcroft (d. 2009).  Loving father of Tim (Lisa) and Carolyn (Russell). Cherished grandfather of Morgan (Tate), Maddie (Liam), Payton, Orvis and Kate. Survived by sisters Betty Cupples (Murray), Barb Brown (Morley), Janet Gillespie (Ray d.) and brother Rodger (Louise) and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents William and Mary, sons William and David, brothers Wilbert (Dorothy), James, Fred (Lydia surviving) and sisters Alma Guest (Don), Beatrice Conroy (John), June Bentley (Joe), Doris Burns (Grant surviving) and Diane McKee (Marv).   Friends and family will be received at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street Lakefield, on Monday October 1, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Elim Lodge, 696 Elim Lodge Rd., Buckhorn, ON.  Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Lakehurst Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Lakehurst Hall.   As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Kawartha Youth for Christ.
