Sad how life separates us for a time. I hadn't spoken to Cam in a few years but he was a big part of my life for a while.
I ordained Cam into the ministry when he was 75. I have seen few people more genuine and deserving of the title "Rev".
A few years later I asked Cam to marry my wife and I and to my delight he said he would do it.
As far as I know mine was the only wedding he ever performed, he may have married others I am unaware of, but mine was definitely the first official and registered ceremony he did... very fitting I think.
We couldn't have asked a finer more humble man that day. I had already come to know Cam and deeply respect him.
Cam was quick to own his mistakes and very endearing in his openness.
I heard the story of Highway 115 several times, but when he talked about it, it wasn't about him, it was about the people he served at the time. Funny how he could tell you of his greatest accomplishments but somehow it was never about him.
The finest quality I will remember when I think of Cam is is genuine humility and willingness to help others in any way he could. We had a period where we had difficulties and drama that we went through together, which are not relevant here, but Cam was a fount of wisdom and calm during the worst of times.
It is sad how life separates us and takes us in different busy directions but I am grateful for the time I spent with Cam.
He lived a great life and to me was a great man.

I had the pleasure of working with Cam in the early 80's.
Truly a person of insightful vision with a very real skill at bringing together diverse interests for the collective good.
My sincerest sympathies to the family -- he will be missed!
