Obituary of Allan "Al" Laverne Marshall

Talented and Kind

Marshall, Allan Laverne “Al”

Al passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at PRHC Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by friends and family, after developing sudden, serious lung complications.  Al was in his 72nd year.

Brother of John, and predeceased by his parents George and Ileen and brother Fred.   Forever loved and missed by Barb (Morrison) and his beloved dog Bailey.  Al was very proud of his daughter Jamey (Eric Erikson) and his grandsons Rick and Aiden, all residents of Stoney Mountain, Manitoba.

Al was a surveyor, a furniture refinisher, an avid golfer and a bowler, but music was his passion, and his talent was phenomenal. He loved performing, and was happiest when he was in the company of other talented musicians.  Al loved that, for the last 10 years, his love of music was shared intensely with his partner Barb.  One of his proudest accomplishments was joining Alcoholics Anonymous in the late 80’s, and remaining true to that commitment.

Many thanks to family, friends and neighbours for their wonderful support during Al’s short time in hospital.  A special thank you to the nurses and doctors of PRHC Emergency Department and Palliative Care.

Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL.  In keeping with Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A small summer celebration (with music, of course) may be planned.  If desired, memorial donations to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes (HSKL) may be made by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
