This is truly a very sad time. Jean was the last living female WWII Veteran from Branch 77 Lakefield. I was always so pleased to see Jean every year at Buckhorn’s Remembrance Day Service. I enjoyed our visits & considered her to be a dear woman and mentor. Jean had a serving heart. After the British military she moved to Canada to raise a large family with Carl (WWII RCA Veteran). She volunteered with the women’s branch of the TC Legion in Peterborough and later became a valuable member of the Lakefield Legion. Jean was a devoted member of St Matthews/St Aiden’s Anglican Church in Buckhorn and was loved in her community. God rest your soul Jean, I will miss you. xo
