Life rushes along,
and we rush with it...
but today, I want to take time out
to tell you I'm thinking of you
and to thank you
for all you did all those years
while I was busy turning into me.

Mother's Day Card.
My mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life its start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rains came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much-she knew I'd need
to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.

A letter to my Mum,
Mum you and I have had a long journey, with days of sunshine and of rain.
When I was a child you were always there to protect, nurture, love me, push me to do things, often I did not believe I could do or did not want to do.
You taught me never to give up, never to believe I was a lesser person; to believe anything I set my mind to was possible. These lessons I have carried all my life.
We grow up, years pass, children come and go, and life takes us both to different places, with less time to spend with each other.
Then, suddenly, a lifetime has passed and things we wanted to do we could no longer do.
Mum I hear you telling me to carry on, that this grief will pass, that death is part of life and that you had a good one and I should be happy you are, after a long struggle, at peace.
And although we can no longer chat you will always be with me in memory and in spirt.
We have sorrow now, but we will see each other again and you and I can have a long chat, at which, I am sure, you will tell me all that I should have done and did not.
The thought gives me comfort and makes me smile
