My sincere condolences to Bernie's family and his many, many friends. Bernie was my college professor for 4 years and has had a lasting positive impact on my approach to life. There are so many words that describe him well - caring, thoughtful, compassionate, dedicated, intelligent, humble, understanding - and the list goes on. But all these words, together, still aren't enough to capture the Bernie we all knew. He was one of those people you could only hope to be fortunate enough to meet during your lifetime. I feel blessed to have known him. Rest in peace Bernie. You will be greatly missed.
