Obituary of David William Charlton
David William Charlton passed away peacefully at Peterborough Hospice with his loving wife and children by his side on December 7, 2020. Born in Lakefield on July 19, 1968 to parents Jim and Bonnie Charlton David is the loving and caring husband of Trudy Charlton (nee Jenner) for 32 years, and cherished father of his three children Melinda Jackman (Kirt), David, and Dennis (Sarah). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Teaghan, Bentley, Aubrey, Wyatt, Weston, Noah, Emery and Kylee, dear brother to Rob (Anne), Kevin (Diane), and Brenda, brother-in-law to Peter, Lori, and Dorothy (Terry) and son-in-law to Peter Jenner. Predeceased by his mother Bonnie Charlton and mother-in-law Gloria Jenner. Missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and dear friends. Thank you to all Peterborough City Transit employees, Fairhaven staff, ICU nurses and doctors at PRHC, the palliative team at PRHC, PSW’s, nurses and Dr. Beamish at Peterborough Hospice for the amazing care in the last few days. To all our family and friends, thank you. A huge thanks to Erin Stark who organized the GoFundMe page and to everyone who donated. He will be missed for his contagious smile, his goofy laugh, his funny Facebook posts of his food, his love for gardening and being outside either on his ATV or his bike, in his shed, either by himself or with some grandchildren tagging along. Dave was a well-known, very well-liked city bus driver for Peterborough transit. Most importantly, he will be missed by all his family & friends. Gone but never forgotten. Arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time, however a Celebration of Life will follow in the coming months.
