Obituary of Ronald Henry Fair

FAIR: Ronald H.

Passed away at his home on Monday December 14, 2020.  Ron Fair of Lakefield in his 69th year.  Ron worked his entire career as a heavy equipment operator, particularly on an excavator.  For many years he was self-employed but worked for Drain Brothers for the last 16 years.  He was an avid Elvis Presley fan as well as Clint Eastwood and enjoyed watching westerns.  He had an uncanny ability to remember jokes that he had heard over time and to share them with others.  Ron loved animals, especially cats and dogs and in his spare time, he and Bonnie loved to go camping or to watch their loved Toronto Blue Jays on TV.  He will be remembered as a compassionate man with a heart of gold who was a good friend to many and a dear companion to his beloved Bonnie.

Loved and missed by his wife Bonnie Fair (nee Parnell).  Also missed by his children Dean Dunford (Amy), Julie Dunford (Dan), David Dunford (Kathleen), Fred Fair (Deanna) and Rhonda Hockaday (Steve).  Dear grandpa of Deanna, Ruby, Jack, Alyson, Cecilia, Leah, Evan, Chase, Blake, Payton, Stephanie and Ashton.  Survived by his sisters Joanne Moriarty (Doug) and Laura-Lee Schultz (Axel).  Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maretta.  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Peterborough Humane Society or Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
