Obituary of Russel Gerald Boyce

BOYCE: Russel Gerald

With great sadness we announce the passing of Russel Gerald Boyce, at the age of 86, on December 18, 2020 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC), after a lengthy hospital stay. He will rest at the Lakefield Cemetery beside his parents Stanley and Violet (nee Bolton). Devoted husband of Carol Barnett for 15 years. Cherished big brother to Robert (late Bonnie), Donald (Phyllis), Ken and Gordon (Vella). He is lovingly remembered by many nieces, a nephew, and their families whom he dearly loved to tease.  Also missed by stepsons Ralph, Shawn, and Danny. Russel served the local agricultural community for many years as a farm machinery equipment mechanic at International and John Deere dealerships. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and videographer.

The family wishes to thank the staff of PRHC B4 & C3 and Rubidge Retirement Residence for their care and attention to Russel. Arrangements are entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield. A private service for the family has been held. COVID-19 has had an unimaginable impact on those living with dementia. Expressions of sympathy if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland and Haliburton. Condolences may be shared, and donations made by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705.652.3355.
