PATTERSON, Leona Lillian (nee. Preston)

Passed away at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Monday January 18, 2021. Leona Patterson of Norwood in her 106th year. Leona will be remembered by many as the owner of the Highway Service Restaurant.  She was a longtime faithful member of the Norwood U.C.W. and through her involvement in the community over the years she assisted the I.O.D.E. and the Norwood Lions Club.  After her retirement, Leona enjoyed travelling and was able to visit many places around the world.  Beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” (d. 1975). Cherished mother of Barry (Marie) and Terry (Nancy). Loving grandmother of Shelley Buxton (Glenn), Kyle, Kari, and great-grandmother of Maia, Savanna, Alex and Ty.  Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Jack Preston (Marie), Eldon Preston (Evelyn) and Ruby Scott (Bruce) and parents Willis and Minnie (nee. Lobb) Preston. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday January 23, 2021 at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood.  Friends are invited to watch the funeral service beginning on Sunday January 24, 2021 at 12:00 noon by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com.
