So very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I first encountered Jim when I joined the Donegal Fiddlers as their percussionist. We are sort of like the kids in the back row at school; having fun playing but always in trouble. We had lots of laughs. Later I ran in to him a few times at Celtic jams in Peterborough and often in Downeyville where he always made me feel welcome. I saw him a few times at Lang Pioneer Village at the Mill that he was restoring. A great old time fiddler that will be missed.

Dear Gayle (Gerhard), Cathy, Karen & all family members, Lance & I are deeply sorry for the precious loss of your Dad. It’s hard to lose a parent & Jim was such a great person. I have many special memories that I’ve shared with you Gayle as a gift in a special email. Of my many visits at the farm, I spent a lot of time there Gayle with you, Jim & Melba. I’ll miss your Dad a lot as I miss your Mom a lot too. I love them both & they were always so friendly, loving, giving & nice to me, to Jonny Dom Mat Lance & even Bailey-dog.Your Dad & I shared many stories together & some fun /interesting conversations. Jim was special sensitive & giving. Thanks Gayle that I got to enjoy your Dad(parents) the way I did & I will cherish Jim (& Melba) & all those wonderful memories in my heart, forever. Even when I lost my own parents, 10+yrs ago & was left orphaned, your Dad/Mom treated me as their own (so so caring of them).I feel grateful for all they did & for all the special times I had with Jim (& Melba). I feel also sad that your Dad is no longer here. Jim however is finally at home, with Melba, with His Lord & Saviour, no longer suffering & enjoying peace & eternal life. That brings me great joy. This wknd I will be with all of you in prayers & love. Living in Quebec & obeying the covid rules, I am unable to travel from province to province during the pandemic. Sorrowfully I will not be able to attend Jim’s wake on Friday night & his funeral is for immediate family of only 10 people. I’m very very sorry. Please know Gayle Cathy Karen & all of you that my thoughts & constant prayers have been with you. During your deepest time of need, I surround you with even more prayers & love. May God bless you all. I love you Gayle(&Gerhard). I love you Jim(&Melba). I love you all & thank God for His strength, comfort & our faith in Him during these difficult times. Sending our deepest sympathies. Amen
