Mr. Halvorsen and Candy,
I was saddened to hear of Paulette's passing. Over the past few years I have enjoyed passing by your home and looking up in the hope that Paulette would be there to share a quick hello and a wave. Many years ago, your mom helped in the kindergarten classroom at Ridpath and to this day, I remember her testing me on colours and numbers. The fact that I clearly remember that event I believe speaks to your mom's friendly nature. She always had a smile and time to say hello. I'm sorry to you both.

BJ and family,
I just now heard about Paulette's sudden passing. My sympathies go out to you BJ and the kids. I know that you will miss her terribly,
When I think of Paulette, I think of an extremely friendly and kind person who always had a smile for everyone. She always seemed to be so upbeat and welcoming. I will remember sitting on your lovely porch and simply having a pleasant conversation that, undoubtedly, included some laughs!!!!

My mom always had a smile on her face. She was very happy and vibrant. Loved people. Loved cutting hair - it took her a long time to retire because she loved her clients and friends so much.
The things you don't know about her is that she was hilarious. She had such a great sense of humour. She could not tell a joke at all. We would wait and wait for her to keep trying which made the joke even funnier. Her tangents on telling stories would take us around the world and back again. And she could get lost in an instant. Turn her around and she would head in the opposite direction she was originally headed The best was when she would take off, head down, without knowing where she was going leaving us always standing there wondering what she was up to and where she was headed. And she walks fast!!! She could walk through an airport in about 10 seconds. Oh, and she hated the water!
My mom was always part of everything I did. She was in Brownies and Girl Guides with me and went camping. I remember her snowshoeing with us in middle school and everyone calling her Mrs H. She always drove me to swimming lessons, soccer practice, and sleepovers at friends houses.
She enjoyed many years, I think over 30, volunteering at The Look Good Feel Better program in PTBO.
She was generous, caring, and loving. She was also frugal and private. My mom always had time to say hi to people and to have a quick visit - which always turned into a couple of hours. She loved animals, daisies, and carnations (only because they lasted such a long time). And she absolutely loved potato's - mashed or otherwise. Mom could make a mean tomato sandwich.
I am going to miss her everyday. But I know she will never be in pain and that she is healthy and happy with her parents and brothers and sister.
There never is enough time, is there?
