Obituary of Walter L. Van Os

Wally passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 with his family by his side. He was 72. 

Beloved husband of Ann (née Johnston) of 50 years. Much loved  father of Kirk and Jeraldine, & Jill and Mike. Proud Papa of Leah, Wally, Addison and Harvey. 

Wally is predeceased by his parents John and Wilhelmina and his sister Gemma. 

Wally will be forever missed and remembered by his mother-in-law Ruth, his brother George (Chris), as well as Jim (Jan), Lynn (Dave), June (the late Lockie), Lori (Barry), Michael (Anita) Lucy, McKenna, Keegan, and a ton of friends.

Wally was born in Holland. He and his family immigrated to Newmarket. He grew up loving hockey, baseball and was full of mischief. Wally and Ann began their life together when they got married in 1970 and had two children. In 1987, Wally moved his family to Cambridge where he ran a successful business.

Wally lived life to the fullest whether at Skyline, at the golf course, or in Fort Myers. He spent the last few years watching his grandchildren grow and enjoy the cottage he was so proud of. Wally left a mark on all those who met him.

Arrangements entrusted to The Hendren Funeral Homes, Lakefield Chapel. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Wally’s life will be held at a later date.
