Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Extendicare, Peterborough, Ontario on Friday, September 3, 2021 in her 85^th year. Barbara was the founder and former owner of Oakland Greens Golf Course and dedicated 50 years of service to the Catholic Women’s League. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, Legion of Mary, and Madonna House, and enjoyed working with youth at Community Living Relief Care. Over the years, Barbara and her late husband, Eugene Mahoney loved dancing together at the Campbellford Modern Square Dancing Club. She took pride in her garden and enjoyed reading, painting, and visiting with her grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed by her children, Pauline Gooding (Jim), David Mahoney (Grace), Stephen Mahoney, and Rosy Mahoney (Erik Torres). Dear grandmother of Matt, Ben, Michaela, Paige, Carter, Diego, Lucia and Wenceslao. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Rosemary Sylvestri (Carl), Annemarie Deryaw (Les), and her brother, Paul Deryaw (Judy). She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Predeceased by her sister, Mary Jane Wilkinson (surviving spouse, Tom), and her brothers, Joe Deryaw (surviving spouse, Cathy) and David Deryaw.

Friends and family are invited to call to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, Hwy 7 Norwood, at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at St. Paul’s R.C. Cemetery.
