Obituary of Leona Ann Moher

MOHER, Leona Ann

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in her 75th year. Companions on the journey for 51 years, Leona leaves behind her steadfast support and loving husband Karl, and their three children Mara Hotrum (Brad), Peter Moher (Danielle) and Erin Moher.  Cherished Grannie of Lauren, Haeden, Isaac, Lilah and Maeve.  Dearly missed sister of Barb Walsh (Bernard), Nancy Melanson (Larry), Janet McMorrow (Kevin), Gerald, Zita Jones (Terry), Albert, Suzanne Carlow (Murray), Maria O’Grady (Tom) and sister-in-law of Roseanne Rabishaw (Jim), Yvonne Leahy (Mark), Paul Moher (Mary Claire), Jimmy Moher, Mary-Ellen O’Brien (Carl) and Rita Larocque. Predeceased by her parents Ferg and Vera, by her mother and father-in-law Richard and Marie, by her brother Stephen and by her sister-in-law, Linda. ‘Aunt’ and ‘Cousin’ Leona, will be fondly remembered by many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her sharp wit and competitive nature was legendary amongst her many friends and many kitchen card tables. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Douro, Ontario, on Tuesday October 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM.  You may register to attend the Mass by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com.  If you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the Mass beginning at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com and clicking on the link available on Leona’s Memorial Page.  If attending in person you must wear a face covering while present in the church.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
