BUCHANAN: Doris “Ruth”

November 10, 1936 – October 7, 2021

Passed away at Campbellford Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.  Ruth was a very accomplished person, she was the former secretary of Norwood High School, secretary/manager of the Norwood Fair, Counsellor, Deputy Reeve and Reeve of the village of Norwood, member of County Council and a member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church.  She was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays and a faithful supporter of Norwood Minor Sports.  Daughter of the late Clifford and Beatrice Davey (nee Golloher).  Beloved wife of Bill Buchanan for 65 years.  Cherished mother of Richard (Holly), Randy (Adrienne), Robert (Lori) and Ronald (Janet).  Loved grandmother of Amanda, Jessica, Chad, Emily, Alexander, Nicolas, Eliza, Bryce and Abby.  Proud great grandmother of Rylen, Rayna, Camden and Beckett.  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood, on Saturday October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM.  You are invited to watch the funeral service by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com and clicking on the link available on the memorial page for Ruth.  Interment Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Norwood as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-639-5322.  A very special thank you to Campbellford Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and support and to the staff at Mapleview Retirement Residence for their care and kindness shown to Ruth during this past year.
