I first met Doug when I was a junior golfer. Playing many events across Ontario I had the opportunity to meet and play with a number of golf professionals. I would often see Doug and always enjoyed his company and advice.
At age 18, I won a significant event at Northwood Golf Club, when Doug was the Head Professional.
He treated me as if I had just won the Masters. From that day on, Doug and I shared many rounds,
mostly in PGA of Ontario competitions even up to the Seniors events. He was a very good player and a joy to play with.
Our profession and the game has lost one of the very best.
