Dear Cheri tomorrow will be a difficult day for you and the family. My prayers and thoughts be with you as you celebrate Rosemarys life. Your mum was a very special person and I have so many memories of our times together. From the early days in Dar when I first met your folks and the times together during the Marlboro days. The laughs we had together and the very sad time when Don got ill and passed. How proud she was of you and Mark. Even though we were miles apart our friendship stood fast and I am so sad we never got to chew the cud together again. Rosemary will always be in my heart and the memories of our times together will live on. Thinking of you all. My love Sylvia

I met Don and Rosie in Dar es Salaam in the mid '60s. They were a great couple and Rosemary one of the funniest and quick witted people I have ever met. We had many great years together there all riding horses at the Sunny Horse Ranch. Sailing from the Dar Yatch Club with Don and Rosie on their beautiful boat Sultana. We celebrated birthdays together with wonderful friends who all had common interests. Rosie and Don were there to help out and service during the EA Safari Rally and Don and I even did the 1981 event together. Our journey continued when we all moved to Nairibi. In the early '80s I was happy to visit them in Canada where we had a great time with Sylvia, Cheri and Mark. Sadly Don and Mark died young and Rosie thankfully had her only daughter by her side who made sure their lives were rich with family. I miss Rosie a lot and am so sad we didn't meet again before her untimely passing. Love you all, Ann

Rosemary was a lovely and kind lady. She was in our chapter of Red Hats back in 2006 plus a few years. We missed her when she left the chapter. I heard her stories about Africa and she led an interesting life as a nurse and as a Christian. My sympathy to the family to the family comes from those members of our chapter who still remember her. Queen Dyanna Gassien and members of the Bobcaygeon Red Hats now a chapter of Crown Jewels of Canada

I had the good fortune of meeting Rosemary the summer of '93, along with three others, Barbara, Bernice and Denice. We quickly became fast friends. Calling ourselves :The Breakfast Club" we would gather for Girls' Weekends as often as we could and well.....What happens at Girls' Weekend stays at girls' weekend. The memories of these and of the Saturday night dinners by the fire at Tom's Beastro" right up until Oct. 31st of this year will be cherished. I will miss and remember my dear friend fondly and with love.
