Obituary of Jean Isabella Thistlethwaite

Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Ajax on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the age of 90. Jean was a beautiful, kind and caring soul.  There was nothing more rewarding to Jean than being a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.  Jean spent much of her time giving to others.  Over the years she knitted over 2000 Teddy Bears for orphanages around the world through Doctors without Borders.  Jean also knitted and donated countless sweaters, mittens and hats to the IODE and Lion’s Club for anyone who was in need of them. Jean will be forever loved and missed by her children Rick (Cathy), Jim (Ellie), Joni (Darl), and Mary Lou. Proud Gramma of Bill (Sarah), John (Erin), Matthew (Dani), Casey (Danielle), Danny (Miranda), Cortney (Richard), Jason and Tessa. Cherished Great-Gramma of 13 Great -Grandchildren. Beloved sister of Ruth Burtt. Jean will also be remembered by her niece, Adrienne (Randy) and nephew Lindsay (Lori) and their families. Predeceased by her father, John Baskin and mother, Grace Baskin. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at a later date.
