He was a GREAT uncle. He was a great chef that made amazing Angel Food cake. He always had time to listen to what I had to say, and gave big hugs
He loved to talk about the geese now he is flying with

From the first day they met on March 6, 1978 at Unimin, Dill and Ross worked, hunted, fished, and socialized together with Jean and I. Ross' passing has left a hole as large as the impact Ross made on the lives of those he loved and who loved him. Our whole family, including Dill's parents, who Ross called Mom and Dad, and his siblings, will miss him until we see him again. Jean, we love you and will always be there for you.

Dear Jean and Family, We were saddened to hear of Ross' passing. As former neighbours, we enjoyed talking and laughing with Ross on many occasions. We were always happy to see that he was outside or in the garage tinkering around so that we could stop and have a chat. His helpful advice and local knowledge was greatly appreciated. Ross was a family man, an every man, and someone always willing to lend a hand. He loved to fish, hunt, cook, and had a laugh that would fill a room. Our childhoods are filled with memories of Ross. Everything from his belly flops off the cottage dock to him falling off the back of the snowmobile at the hunting camp. He will be missed by so many.
Sending our love to Jean, Lynna, and Angie,
Emily, Carly, & Megan Whitmore

Ross lived to drive. It was never enough to be a generous host or an excellent cook, each day was an excuse for a road trip. He toured me around his beloved Kawartha's and his adopted winter respite in the low country counties of South Carolina and Georgia. Ross was a fine friend, a decent man, master of so much that is practical and worthy of the Canadian compliment to being useful. I like to believe he is on the road again or on the river or lake roving forever in peace.
