Obituary of Leona Willena Lane

LANE: Leona Willena (nee McIlmoyle)

October 21, 1940 - September 28 ,2022

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa. Loving wife of Norman Lane for 37 years.  Cherished mother of Shawn (Theo), Bruce and Susan (Karl) Douglas, Rob (Deanna) and Ron (Cheryl) Lane.  Beloved grandmother of Kalvin (Lauren) and Rick Holland, Danielle (Brad) Munro, Amanda (Andrew) and Jessie (Rachel) Lane, Brandon Jessup, Anna and Eric Lane.  Proud to have been a great-grandmother to Everett Munro-Gehl.  Survived by brother Ron (Anne) McIlmoyle and Doris (Gary) Nickson.  Predeceased by Sister Joyce (Garnet) Golloher.  Will be missed greatly by many nieces and nephews.

Leona started her career at Ridpath Public School in Lakefield as Secretary and finished as Payroll Supervisor at the Board of Education.

She was well known in Lakefield for her Membership with the R.C.L. Ladies Auxiliary Branch 77, where she was Sports Officer for many years and was a proud member of the Red Hats.    Leona and Norm were also well known at music festivals, bingos, horseshoes and bid euchre tournaments.  Her love of life was always evident and she will be missed sorely.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at Lakefield Cemetery in the Spring.
