1935 - 2022
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Lorne’s passing, with his family by his side, on September 28, 2022 at the age of 87. Lorne, beloved husband of 61 years to Beverley Ann (Walling). Loving father to his children; Lorna Izzard (Russell), Lois Cyr (Raymond) and Larry Lee along with seven grand-daughters; Rebecca, Allison, Nicole (Justin) , Karlee (Chris), Christina (Gary), Stephanie and Jaimie (Taay) and eight great grandchildren; Ethan, Angel, Alicia, Mila, Marek, Rory, Harper and Oakley. Lorne is survived by his sisters Carol MacDonald and Helen Nelson.
Lorne was a hardworking man who worked as a Chief Custodian for the school board for 33 years. With his wife they enjoyed riding snowmobiles and his motorcycle, showing old cars, playing cards, going for scenic drives and most of all family visits. Lorne loved to hunt, fish and be in the outdoors. He was known for wearing his suspenders and always referred to Centre Dummer as “God’s Country”.
Lorne was a caring, kind, and compassionate man with a wonderful sense of humour. He has touched so many lives and will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood, on Thursday October 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery. A reception will follow in the fellowship room of the funeral home. Special thanks to Dr. Zaniewski and nurses, Rachel and Rebecca, on floor 4B at PRHC, as well as Dr. Bishop from ICU. Thanks also to Dr. Heidman and Dr. Hughes for their support in the past.
