Obituary of Gordon Kenneth Rosborough

ROSBOROUGH: Gordon Kenneth 

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  Gordon (Dick) Rosborough of Selwyn in his 93^rd year.  Gordon was a lifetime member of Lakefield Baptist Church, and a long-time employee of Pittsburgh Glass in Peterborough.  For many years he assisted in various roles with Lakefield Minor Hockey. More recently Gordon was awarded “Grandfather of the Year” by Community Care.  He loved nature and spent many hours tending to his garden and flowers, but his greatest love was for his wife Doris and his entire family.  He will be missed beyond measure.  He is loved and greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 69 years, Doris (nee Ellis).  Also missed by his children Dave Rosborough (Rose) of Trent Hills, Jim Rosborough (Barb) of Lakefield and Sue Rosborough of Cobourg.  Loving grandfather of Brian (Leanne), Bryce (Karissa), Brent (Jocelyn), David (Laura), Darryl (Jen), Daniel, Sara (Jason), Amy (Ken), Josh (Megan), Tim (Stephanie), Liam (Brooke) and 22 great grandchildren.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his siblings Everett Rosborough (Lottie) (Wilma), Alex Rosborough (Ethel), Winnifred Freeburn (Robert), Margaret Dunford (Truman), Kathleen Bullock (Wellie), Wesley Rosborough, Mary Nichols (Melville), Stewart Rosborough (Phyliss) (Joan), Bruce Rosborough (Dora).  The family would like to thank Dr. Morelli and the angels at Hospice Peterborough for their loving care and compassion, as well as family and friends who brightened dad’s days with their visits over the past 7 weeks. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Lakefield Baptist Church, 36 Regent Street, Lakefield on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM.  A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough or the Lakefield Food Bank and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
