Obituary of Ida Gwendoline Methot

METHOT, Ida Gwendoline (nee Bell) 

Passed peacefully at Centennial Place, Millbrook, on Saturday December 31, 2022, in her 89th year into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. Loving wife of the late Jean-Marc “Johnny” Methot. Predeceased by her siblings Ernie, Hazel, Jean, Jim, Gladys, Winnie, Sydney and Bertie. Ida came to Canada from Northern Ireland in 1957. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends from Elim Lodge and the area. Ida was known for her deep faith in God and lived that faith in her community every day. Throughout their retirement years she and her late husband Johnny lived and volunteered at Elim Lodge, Buckhorn, Ontario in the summer months.  She spent many hours volunteering in the craft room, kitchen, dining room, laundry and organizing exercise classes and walking clubs.  They spent their winters at Winter Quarters RV Park in Bradenton, Florida where they also volunteered and had many friends. She was loved by many and known for her cheerful, gentle spirit, always with a smile on her face.  A private interment will take place at Lakehurst Cemetery at a later date.
