BOLTON: Grace (nee Menzies)

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Monday January 2, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family.  Grace Bolton, formerly of Big Cedar in her 97th year, a woman admired for her courage, outstanding achievements and noble qualities.  Grace was a devoted member of local Anglican Churches including St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Lakefield for the last many years.  As a devoted lifelong educator, Grace spent 27 years teaching at Woodview, Burleigh Falls and Young’s Point Public Schools. She was truly full of grace and will be remembered by the many lives she has touched. Her kind, generous and welcoming soul, funny sense of humour and nurturing demeanor are what set her apart.  Loving wife of the late Orval Bolton.  Sadly missed by her children Marion Crowe (Steve) of North Kawartha, Brenda Corner (Gord) of Douro, David Bolton (Lil) of North Kawartha, Carol Shewen (Grant) of Woodview and daughter-in-law Darlene Bolton.  Grammie is remembered by Erin (Lalchan), Ben, Holly (Chris), Jeremy (Christine), Norman (Tara), Anson (Elisabeth), Eric (Brittany), Connor, Ryan (Laura), Ian (Kelsey), Carly (Fred), Lucas (Jasmine) and 10 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by her daughter Lois and son Glenn, brothers Ralph and Russell Menzies and sisters Ethel Pollock, Ruth Wild, Ruby Petherick, Doris Thompson and Laura Skaling.  Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Sunday January 8, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 81 Queen Street, Lakefield on Monday January 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Masks are mandatory at the funeral home and church.  Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lakefield.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.  The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Hospice Peterborough for their wonderful care and Rev. Peter Gachira for his spiritual visit.
