It is with much sadness that we learned of Wagdy's passing. He personally left a great impression on me as a little girl and early on I recognized the great human being that he was. I'm positive that the Lord has already embraced him to the heaven above. We share in your immense loss and will pray for you to find the strength necessary in this difficult time. May his memories stay alive and may his life be a celebration of the wonderful accomplishments he gave throughout his life. Our deepest sympathy to all his family. Névine and Guy Samson

Miigwetch to Dr Rayes Family for sharing him with me. He was a great teacher and so fun to work with and I am so grateful to have had him as my medical care provider for 32 years. The late night medical emergency calls he would respond to with us on the ambulance will always be remembered. He has saved so many. His laughter, clowning around has always brought a smile. Games night in the ambulance bay with the midnight murder mystery!! He played a great part!! Thank you Dr Rayes for being a shining light for me and the community. You are and will be missed. Baamaapai (Later again I will see you) Carla Seffelaar

We were so sadened to hear of Dr. Rayes' passing. I've been privileged to know Wag for well over 40 years! I was a Chiropractor practising in Peterborough back in the day and we would have wonderful visits and conversations! Then when we didn't have a family doctor in Peterborough, Dr. Rayes was benevolent enough to see us and our mothers! He was so very, very kind and generous with his time & knowledge. Dr. Rayes was indeed a stellar gentleman and a gift to mankind.
Dr. Wag Rayes will be sorely missed. God Bless him and his family.
Our most sincere condolences,
Dr. Michael K. and Mrs. Joan Livingstone

Out small community and our family was so truly blessed and fortunate to have Dr. Rayes (Wag) share his talents, compassion and joy with us. I remember once being very young and I was having extreme difficulty breathing. My mom knocked on your families’ door and Doctor Wag immediately brought us and took great care of me. Sending prayers and deep condolences.

There are very few doctors in today's society that will make house calls when you are unable to get to the office or will ride in the ambulance with you when your loved one is sick. Dr Rayes was that kind of doctor. If you needed medical care outside of normal office hours he would say "Meet me at the clinic", or "Can you come to my house"?
Dr Rayes made himself available to the Apsley Community when we needed him.
May these kind memories help you at this difficult time.

I remember my family being so happy when Dr. Rayes came to Apsley, as a family doctor over 40 years ago. He was smart, kind and supportive and we learned to trust him. In particular, he was helpful with my sister who was a quadriplegic at the cottage and he calmed me when my daughter was as very ill and I needed her to be at the cottage. He said:” no problem, if she needs emergency care , we have a pad for a helicopter and she can be flown to Sick Kids”.” Over the years he was consistently wonderful!
We became friends with Wag and Sally in later years and had regular brunches with them in the summer. Wag was so happy when his grandchildren, Patrick and Tom were born and he loved to see them whenever they came to visit. He would light up like a light bulb in their presence. He adored his daughter Margie and her husband Simon and was so grateful for their care during his time in ICU.
Wag led a good life and he had a peaceful passing. I want to send my deepest condolences to his family and hope they can be sustained by their memories as they mourn his I loss.
