Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the P.R.H.C., on Thursday March 16, 2023.  Wayne Lathangue of Campbellford, formerly of Bradford and Barrie in his 80th year.  Wayne was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a long-time truck driver for Labatt’s.  Loved and missed by his wife Sharon Lathangue (formerly Barrie).  Dear father of David (Sarah) of Lapeer, Michigan and Don (Danielle) of Grapevine, Texas, stepfather of Elizabeth, Jennifer and Michael Barrie, all of Havelock.  Grandfather of Rachel, Emily, Molly, Christel, Mackenzie, Emma, Stevie, Mikey, Shea, Ashley, Robert, Chelsea, Joey, Brittany and Natasha.  Survived by his brother Brian Lathangue (Brenda) of Huntsville, sisters-in-law Pat Lathangue and Sue Laton, brother-in-law Alvin Backus and mother-in-law Helen Backus.  Predeceased by his parents Neil and Marjorie, brother Gary and first wife Billie (d. 1993).  Cremation has taken place.  An interment will be held at Union Cemetery in Barrie at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-639-5322.
