COLP: Leonard Norman

 

Passed away at Case Manor Care Community, Bobcaygeon on Tuesday March 28, 2023.  Len was born in Alberta in 1940 and began his education at Dolcy School, a one room schoolhouse.  He was educated in theology; free-lance writing and he held a Commercial Pilot’s License.  Len’s writings have appeared in publications such as Good Old Days, The Nazarene Standard and the Wainwright Star Chronicle.  In 1979, Len received the Mississippi Valley Writer’s Conference Award of Merit for both fiction and non-fiction stories.  He is loved and missed by his wife Susan Colp (née Masters) and his sons Randy Bert Colp and Darryn Norman Colp.  Dear grandpa of Evan, Austin and Ashley Colp and great grandpa of Alaia Garcia.  Survived by his siblings Leila Doan, David Colp (Linda), and sister-in-law Judy Colp.  Predeceased by his parents, sister Cora Ward and brother Ronald Colp.  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Thursday April 6, 2023 at 1:30 PM.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.  Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough.  Memorial donations may be made to the Slavic Gospel Association Canada and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
