GOUDEY: Ruth Victoria

Passed away at the P.R.H.C., on Tuesday April 25, 2023.  Ruth Goudey of Peterborough, formerly of Lakefield in her 90^th year.  Ruth worked for many years at Outboard Marine and Westclox in Peterborough.  She continued by working five more years with the Red Cross.  Ruth had a love of playing the piano and accordion at different church's she attended including playing the organ for over 30 years at the Lakefield Baptist Church as well as Wesley United Church.  With her talent for music she also directed many choirs and special Christmas musical presentations. Ruth served as the secretary for the Trent Valley Association. She is the loving wife of the late Richard Goudey (d. 1958).  Lovingly remembered by her daughter Virginia Rhude (the late David) and her grandchildren Annette Léger (Albert) of Colborne and Jeff Rhude of Bridgenorth.  Dear great grandma of Nicholas, Julia and Jacob.  Survived by her brother David Finley of Apsley, brother-in-law Roy Byman, sisters-in-law Ruth Finley, Barb Finley and Gwen Finley and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her sisters Mary King (Russell), Florence Finley, Joan Byman and brothers Maurice Gibson (Mary), Roy Gibson, George Finley (Isabel), Herb Finley (Doreen) and Edwin Finley.  Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street Lakefield on Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be held at Lakefield Baptist Church, 36 Regent Street, Lakefield, on Thursday May 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the church.  Memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Baptist Church and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
