Obituary of Verna Mae Chaplin

Chaplin, Verna Mae (nee McKenzie)

Passed away at Campbellford Hospital on April 27^th, 2023 with family by her side. Verna of Norwood, in her 96^th year.  Beloved wife of the late Gerald Chaplin. Loving mother of Ronald Chaplin (Judy), Shirley McGee (D. Lloyd), Hugh Chaplin (Marlene) and Bill Chaplin (D. Sandra). Dear grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchild. Verna is survived by her sister Josie Cameron (D. Ronald). Predeceased by her parents John and Sarah McKenzie, daughter Margaret Merrill (D. David), and sister Vera King (D. William). Friends and relatives are invited to call, for a visitation at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, on May 5^th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on May 6^th at 1:00PM, with a second visitation to commence one hour prior. Interment to take place after service at Norwood Asphodel Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the Norwood United Church. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Mapleview Retirement Residents for all their care.
