WARNER: James Ronald “Ron”

Passed away peacefully at The Bridge Hospice, Warkworth, on Wednesday May 10, 2023. Ron Warner of Mapleview Retirement Residence, Norwood, formerly of Hastings in his 98th year. Ron was a long time Dairy Farmer and distinguished Holstein Breeder in the area for many years. He served on many agricultural committees and community organizations and was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Westwood. Ron was a proud inaugural inductee into the Peterborough County Agricultural Wall of Fame and a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award. Beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Lacey). Cherished father of Dean (Carol), Wendy Hale (John), both of Hastings, Wayne (Anne Marie) of Omemee and Karen Yellowlees (Dennis) of Nestleton. Grandpa will always be loved and remembered by Lacey Warner, Stephanie Murphy (Camron) and Christine and Jennifer Yellowlees. Also remembered by his sister Elizabeth Anne Devine (the late Roy) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Jean Rowden (William) and brothers-in-law Milton Lacey (Dorothy) and Ted Lacey (Margaret). Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street, Norwood on Monday May 15, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Monday evening at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Westwood, on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Westwood Cemetery. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. The family asks that you please wear a mask while attending the visitation and/or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Building Fund of St. Andrew’s United Church, Westwood;  Norwood Agricultural Society; the Bridge Hospice, Warkworth; Mapleview Retirement Home Residents Council; or the charity of your choice as expressions of sympathy.
