EDWARDS: Sherman Bertram

Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C., with his family by his side, on Thursday May 11, 2023.  Sherman Edwards of Lakefield in his 88^th year.  Sherman spent his whole life farming the land on his family farm on the edge of Lakefield.  For over 20 years he also drove bus and worked as a custodian for the K.P.D.S.B.  He is loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Carol (nee Bailey).  Also missed by his sons Jim (Brenda) of Peterborough, Steve (Kelli) and Kevin (Deanna), both of Lakefield.  Dear grandpa of Melissa (Steve), Adam (Stefanie), Marcy, Gavin, Travis, Harley (Cynthia), Brooke, Hayden (Laura), Ashley (Kyle), Tyler (Matt), Bailey (Kameron) and great grandchildren Hannah, Rowyn and Oakland.  Survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by several brothers and sisters.  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will commence at 9:30 AM.  Interment to follow at Lakefield Cemetery.  A reception will be held in the Heritage Room of the Funeral Home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at 705-652-3355.
