Rest in piece, Kerrier. I'm sure you are with Horrack!
It is with great sadness that I heard of Sarkis/Kerrier's passing.
Sarkis/Sam was my uncle, he married my Dad's sister, they came to Canada several years before us by boat. Sam was trained as a shoe maker and had a shop for a few years at the corner of Kingston Road and Midland Ave. in Scarborough/Toronto. His specialty was orthopedic shoes. After several tough years he eventually became an autobody mechanic for many years. I even bought a couple of his cars he repaired, I remember the first one was a 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix, (what a car, maybe too much of a car for a 17 year old, but, it was fun).
Eventually he opened his own shop behind his home in Bobcaygeon and his work repairing cars supported him and Horrack.
I have fond memories of going up to Bobcaygeon and being together as a family and celebrating life. We always enjoyed barbeque dinners all year. Big breakfasts, which were needed for the work we did on the property. Before building his house, he had a little cabin and we would stay over (kids and ladies in the cabin and Dad and Kerrier in the car). Eventually he built his dream home and we were there along the way helping every weekend. I think the cabin is still at the back of his property, they moved into the house when it was closed in and commuted to Scarborough. Eventually they moved into the house full time and Sam commuted to Scarborough to work (but, in the winter he stayed with us during the week).
We had wonderful times together, we help them and they helped us. Their front door was always open for us as ours was for them. They enjoyed all their family and friends. Through the summer months the whole family would congregate at their house, all the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and even my kids and we had lots of laughs, lots of food and drink and we even traveled through all the small towns near Bobcaygeon.
Kerrier, you always worked hard and accomplished a lot, you were a great uncle and friend!

So sad to hear of the passing of our beloved Kerrier/Uncle. Sam and Elizabeth welcomed me into the family and their home over 40 years ago, and their love and generosity left a lasting impression on me. I have many fond memories of spending weekends at their home in Bobcaygeon. You will always be in our hearts.

I will never forget our visits to Bobcaygeon. Kerrier and Horrac were always so loving and warm. Not only do we have Armenian roots, which you were so proud of but I feel like you and Dede (Levon) planted roots in your beloved Bobcaygeon too. I could always feel how close you were to my Dad (Hagop) and his siblings, like they were your own. Thank you for everything you have done for us Kerrier! I will love you forever. Xox

I’m truly sorry to see this. He knows me as Ettig, his niece. We all loved him dearly. He is with his beloved wife, Elizabeth —Elo—now. Love you, Kerrier.
