PEREIRA: Sidney Arruda

 

Passed away suddenly at the PRHC on Sunday June 18, 2023.  Sid Pereira of Douro-Dummer, formerly of Ennismore in his 64th year.  For many years Sid, was an owner/operator long haul truck driver, taking great pride in his rigs.  He loved being outdoors, whether camping or 4-wheeling and took great pride in his grandchildren, always being sure to be at their major events.  He was a hockey coach in Ennismore for many years and an active member of the BEL Rotary Club.  In later years he became a chaplain, assisting with the OPP and the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.  Sid loved to talk and would pass along his advice to anyone he came across.  He will be dearly missed by his family and many dear friends.  Loved by his children Mark Pereira of Lumsden, Saskatchewan and Michelle Morrissey (Paul) of Douro.  Dear grandpa of T.J., Sydney and Austin.  Also missed by his side car buddy Rudy.  Survived by his brother Carlos Pereira (Sue) of Markham, sister Lucy Pereira of Wasaga Beach, nieces and nephews Michael, Melissa (Sean), and Laura-Leigh.  Predeceased by his parents.  Friends and relatives may visit at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Saturday June 24, 2023 from 10:00 – 12:00.  A private family funeral service will follow.  Cremation.  Interment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s R.C.
