Obituary of Ed Newson

NEWSON: Howard Edward “Ed”

Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Saturday June 24, 2023.  Ed Newson of Peterborough, formerly of Lakefield in his 87^th year.  In 1962 Ed purchased his farm outside of Lakefield and there he spent many years tending his cattle and land.  He was also a plumber by trade and served as the Plumbing Inspector for the village of Lakefield and Township of Smith.  He is loved and missed by his spouse Carol, his children Howard (Wendy Nelson) of Lakefield, Ken of Lakefield, Marnie Kellar of Manitoulin Island and step-daughters Angela Hough (Dennis) of Blenheim and Kimberly Taylor of Ottawa.  Dear grandpa of Justin (Morgan), Danielle, Hallie, Jordan, Alyssa (Matt), Cory and great grandchildren Grayson, Amanda, Tristan, Peyton and Abel.  Survived by his sister Katherine Newell of Newmarket.  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOEMS, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
