Obituary of Millie Yardy

YARDY, Millie (née Craighead)
1935 – 2023

Sadly, we announce the passing of Millie at home in Lakefield on August 6, 2023, at the age of 88 years. She is survived by a loving husband of 64 years, Harold; children Paul (Melissa) of
Caledon, Mark of Edmonton, and David (Brittmarie) of Cincinnati; and 7 grandchildren: Stephen, Sarah, Nicole, Kevin, Annika, Keaton, and Rebecca.
 

Millie was born and raised on a farm in Campbellford. She was a loving daughter of Garnet William and Dorothy Craighead and a caring sister of Pearl, Marie, and Joan (pre-deceased). Millie enjoyed a busy life: she was proprietor of a beauty salon in Peterborough and two bookstores in Lindsay before retiring to her home on Deer Bay in 1990. She was an accomplished pianist, and during retirement, she golfed at the clubs Katchiwano in Lakefield and The Quarry in Peterborough. Her greatest joy came from entertaining her children and grandchildren at her home.
