FERRERI: Salvatore “Sam”

Sam Ferreri of Lakefield in his 81^st year passed away suddenly at P.R.H.C., surrounded by his family on Tuesday September 12^th, 2023.  He is loved and missed by his wife of 56 years, Jean (nee Dunford), and his children Anthony (Terri) of Lakefield and Cindy Vissers (Chris) of Pontypool.  Loving Poppy to Kaitlyn (Chris), Ben (Bryanna), Rianna and Lyndsay (Kyle). Son of the late Caterina and Filippo. Brother to Joe (Maria dec.), Frank (dec.) (Elisa). Beloved brother-in-law to Delbert Dunford (Marilyn dec.), Vera McIsaac (dec.) (Danny dec.), Loretta Russell (dec.) (Chuck dec.), Everette Dunford (dec.) (Anne dec.), Margaret Godfrey (Larry), Helen Foote (dec.) (Al dec.), John Dunford (Paula dec.), Gladys Pearson (dec.) (Merv dec.) and Gord Dunford. Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Sam will be remembered by the many customers he served as their barber for over 60 years both in Lakefield and Bridgenorth.  Sam loved hockey and volunteered for many years with the Lakefield Junior ‘C’ Chiefs.  When not working or volunteering he could be found tending to his gardens and his chickens.  Above all, Sam’s greatest love was that of his grandchildren whom he adored and loved spending time with.    A Celebration of Sam’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #77, 10 Nicholls Street, Lakefield on Sunday September 24^th from 1-4 PM.  Memories will be shared beginning at 1:00 PM.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Jumpstart as expressions of sympathy, and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
