Obituary of Ruth Vera Dunford
DUNFORD: Ruth Vera (nee Garbutt)
Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Saturday September 16, 2023. Ruth Dunford of Lakefield in her 91st year. Ruth was a graduate of Nursing from Peterborough Civic Hospital in 1953 and spent her entire career there until her retirement in 1997. She was a long-time member of Bethel United Church. Loved and missed by her daughters Karen Dunford-Bullock (Brian Robinson) of Peterborough and Susan Dunford (David McMillan) of Lakefield. Loving grandmother of Bradley Bullock (Brooke), Richard Robinson (Nikki), Sarah Mackie (Jeff), Meghan Nash (Matt), Mitchell Pickard, Matthew Pickard and great grandmother of Charlee, Hunter, Ava and Oliver. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Rodger and brother Elwin Garbutt (Ruth). A funeral service will be held on Friday September 22, 2023 at 12:00 PM at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield. Visitation will commence at 10:30 AM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of Lakefield United Church.
