It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert ( Bob). He passed away peacefully at Extendicare Lakefield on Tuesday November 14, 2023. Bob McIlmoyle of Lakefield in his 92nd year. Bob loved the outdoors, whether he was spending time tending his garden or away on the hunt. He was very active in his children’s sports, coaching hockey and travelling with the kids. To say he was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs was an understatement. His greatest love, however, was his family, and Bob gave tirelessly to help his children and grandchildren in all their endeavours. He is loved and missed by his wife of 65 years, Myrna Marie (nee Coons). Also loved by his children Shelley Pearson (Paul), Rob McIlmoyle and Sue Amsbury (Rick). Dear grandfather of Jennifer Kynaston (David), Lyndon Pearson (Alicia), Zachary McIlmoyle, Nathan McIlmoyle (Riana), Blake McIlmoyle, Dana Albright (Nick) and Kyler Amsbury (Eszter). Loving great grandfather of Brooklyn, Ben, Mckenzie, Gracie, Noah, Brielle, Harlow, Levi, Presley and Olivia. Survived by his sisters Beverly Shearer (Gary), Betty Clark (Keith), sisters-in-law Margaret and Betty and many nieces and nephews. Also remembered by many in the Coons family. Predeceased by his siblings Margaret, Norman, Jack (Florrie), Dorothy Wortzman (Harry), Phyllis Russell (Don), Elwood (Fern), Helen Nurse (Jerry), Paul (Verna Bateman) and Leonard. A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the funeral home.
