Shelley, Chris, Karen, Christopher and Ryan,
I am sending you all the biggest "O'B" hug I can. Uncle Ron was such a kind and caring man and I cherished the times I got to share with him over the years. His stories of walking the streets of Toronto and the knuckleheads he would have to deal with were always a source of laughter for my cousins and me. I loved my times with him because he always made me feel like family...swimming, fishing, lobster roasting, and of course, snowmobiling were some of the memories I'll cherish the most.
I have shared a couple of photos of my fondest memories of him: supervising Tom and Bob at the family get-togethers, and my favourite, when he would bellow out his "HO! HO! HOS!" at grandma's place when the O'Brien's got together for Christmas.
He was a great BIG guy that I loved sharing time with. I trust you'll be able to reflect on happier times together as well, to help you get through this difficult time.
Love you all,
Jeff

Ron was admired by those he touched in family, friends and his service to others in his career. My Dad was a police officer and I recall he and Ron sharing stories and thoughts over the years. Our sincere condolences, love and prayers to Sheila and family.

Ron:
I have known Ron since I was 15 years old. I remember going fishing with you when we first met at the cottage. You fell in love with my friend Shelley and were head over heels in love with her from the start, and that was all you focused on. It worked….You were both married on April 2, 1966 and built your life together from then on. When Tom and I started dating in 1972, that is when we became closer as friends and family. My sons Mark and Mathew love you so much, and their memories growing up with you and your family have made bonds for life for them and our family. So many memories of great, happy times spent together will resonate in our lives as long as we remain. You touched so many other lives with your generous kindness and spirit of fairness, and most of all, you always had so many great stories that captured us with your humour and your laughter. I will consider our friendship one of my greatest treasures.
Love Ever
Cheryl,
I
