WINDOVER: Ronald Lloyd
Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Tuesday January 9, 2024. Ron Windover of Buckhorn in his 77th year. Ron served as a local politician for over 30 years including 12 years as Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Trent Lakes. During that time, he also served on countless boards including Lang Pioneer Village and the Lakehurst Hall. As an adventurous minded entrepreneur, Ron worked very hard his entire life, building cottages and installing septic systems with Buckhorn Stone Products and Windover Lumber Ltd. He was happiest when he was operating his equipment, either at a job site or at his stone pit. He was also very active with his company, Fountain Head Farms which raised Emu’s and produced many related products called Nature’s Healing Wonders. He is loved and missed by his wife Gloria and his children Sean Windover of Peterborough, Randy Benson of Uxbridge and Tammy Stevenson (Dave) of Port Perry. Loving grandfather of Kyle, Krista (Andrew), Darren, Abbegale (Tyler), Joshua and great grandfather of Logan and Evie. Survived by his sisters Nancy Gillespie (Ross) of Young’s Point, Donna Gillespie of Buckhorn and several close nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Verna, nephew Dan Gillespie and brother-in-law Roger Gillespie. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Sunday January 14, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday January 15, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment Sandy Lake Cemetery, Lakehurst. A reception will follow at the Lakehurst Hall.
