Shirley Anne Mabel Thurston  (July 9^th, 1950 – January 19^th, 2024)

Our dear Shirley received her angel wings in her 74^th year on Friday January 19^th, 2024. Shirley passed away peacefully with her friends and family by her side at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon. Pinecrest was Shirley’s home for almost 20 years. Shirley will be greatly missed by her brother William (Carol) Foster, her many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is now reunited with her beloved step-mom Irma J. Thurston (Thibadeau), father Robert Robertson Thurston, mother Anne Thurston (Hunsley) and many others. 

Shirley was an inspiration to those who knew her. She was a great teacher, had lots of patience, and the biggest heart. Shirley was the type of person who could lighten up a room with her smile and could warm your heart with her eyes. Shirley will be greatly missed but we know she is looking down on us and dancing in the clouds. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – MONK CHAPEL. A visitation will be held at The Hendren Funeral Home – Monk Chapel (6 Helen Street Bobcaygeon) on Monday January 29^th, 2024 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday January 30^th, 2024 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at The Hendren Funeral Home – Monk Chapel followed by a service beginning at 11:00 AM. A reception is to follow at the Bobcaygeon Legion Branch 239 (96 King St East). Interment will take place in the spring.
