HAY: William Nelson “Bill”
Passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Thursday February 29, 2024. Bill Hay of Bobcaygeon, also known as “Bun”, a moniker that was used his entire life, in his 90th year. Bill began working at Ontario Hydro at 17 and continued for 35 years in various roles, with the last years spent as Senior Buyer. Bill had a love for all vintage cars and watching Formula 1, but really enjoyed racing along in his 1951 Jaguar XK120. He loved his summers spent on Sand Lake and never missed an episode of his beloved Coronation Street and Jeopardy. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his corny jokes and witty one liners. Loving husband of the late Carol Elizabeth Hay (nee Brown). Sadly missed by his children Brad Hay (Cyndy MacFarlane) and Valerie MacKenzie (John), both of Bobcaygeon. Special grandfather of grandson Braedon and great grandson Grayson. Survived by his sister-in-law Ruth Hay of Bramalea, niece Meaghan Hay and her children Kyle, Lindsay and Cameron, nephews Jeff Hay (Liz) and his son Patrick (Kate) and Kevin Hay (Cindy) and his children Michael and David. Predeceased by his brother Barry Hay and his mother Hilda Hay.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the Pied Eyed Monk, 8 Cambridge Street North, Lindsay. Memories will be shared at 3:00 PM.
